Contemporary Luxe Living in the Heart of Box Hill

|

Development: Panorama Box Hill

Panorama offers contemporary luxury living in the heart of Box Hill. It boasts incredible views over Melbourne and is within a short distance to some of the city’s best restaurants, shops and gardens. Box Hill Institute and the Box Hill Hospital are right on the doorstep which makes Panorama the perfect place for young couples, business or medical professionals to call home.

The residences include generous floor to ceiling windows, which create really beautiful light filled living spaces and allows residents to be connected to the outdoors while they’re comfortably living in their apartment. A sense of luxury is carried throughout the entire building with outstanding interior design selections and the use of premium quality materials and fixtures.

MORC is now the preferred supplier to furnish and style apartments at Panorama.

Planning Stage

Prior to installing furniture and styling, we needed to plan out the space of this display apartment in Panorama thoroughly. The planning stage is so important because this is where we do research into the target demographic, do spatial planning and logistics.

For this apartment we had in mind a young professional couple and made sure that all the pieces we selected matched that lifestyle. Once we had gathered all necessary information, it was time to put together a mood board to showcase our ideas and selections.

Our mood boards show not only the furniture items that will be used in each space throughout the apartment, but also the styling accessories and décor too. We source items like artwork, rugs, plants, lamps and cushions at this stage so that we are prepared on the day of installation. Our stylists use this mood board as a guide to know what each room should look like when complete.

For all of our jobs we also utilise floor plans so that we know the selected furniture will be a suitable size for the space.

Design Process

Main Living Area

When entering this apartment, the first thing people see is the beautiful open-plan living area. We wanted to complement existing design features in the apartment like the incredible marble stone benchtop in the kitchen and dark timber floors. To do this, we selected pieces of furniture in black, white and marble with elements of gold to provide that luxurious feel.

We used quite a neutral colour palette but brought some contrast colours into the space through scatter cushions, decor items and greenery. These decorative items help to add some softness to the room and create a warm and welcoming feeling for residents to be able to relax in. We selected some bold abstract artwork for this living area which ties back perfectly with its black and white theme.

Second Bedroom

It’s important that some elements of a bedroom tie back to the other areas of the home. That’s why in this second bedroom we selected a bold black and white artwork which creates a huge impact as soon as someone walks in. We used a range of different greys in this room which provides a neutral base and allows the wonderful teal cushions to pop. A few different textural elements in this room work together to create subtle interest, from the fabric linen bedhead to the luxurious velvet throw at the base of the bed. The elegant marble bedside tables connect back to the main living area nicely and have an array of small décor items upon them. Delicate glass lamps compliment this room perfectly.

Master Bedroom

For the master bedroom we wanted it to feel luxurious and calming. Inspiration came from the spectacular full-length windows and the view and colours it brought inside. We selected crisp white stonewashed linen for the bed and placed a textured white throw to add interest. We wanted to use an earthy colour that would complement the nature outside the window and so selected this vibrant burnt orange. This colour in the velvet cushions works so well against white and pops even more with the knotted black feature cushion in front. This colour can also be spotted in the abstract artwork which really brings the room together and makes it feel coordinated.

The organically shaped bedside lamps once again mimic the nature outside and we always like to place some greenery on our bedside tables when styling as this allows the room to feel more welcoming. Accents of gold can be found in this room and each item has been thoughtfully considered to ensure it is cohesive with the rest of the apartment.

Entry Room

This 2-bedroom apartment also comes complete with a small room at the front of the residence. We chose to style this as a simple sitting room equipped with a small desk and ottoman. The wall mirror helps to make the space feel bigger rather than using a piece of art that could make the space more cluttered.

We selected a glass desk which also allows more light and air to flow through and used greenery to give it that welcoming and homely feel. An open book is always a great styling accessory for a desk and it invites people to imagine themselves in the space.
